MBBS / BDS Eligibility For Foreigners / Overseas Candidates

No Admission shall be given without an Admission Test or SAT-II Test Score of 550 Minimum Marks in each of the 03 Subjects Biology, Chemistry and Physics / Mathematics. Only those Pakistani National Students and Foreigners who have obtained the required qualifications for the Entry Test from Abroad, shall be eligible for Admission on the Foreign Seats and shall either have to appear in the Admission Test or present the university the requisite SAT Test Score. Students who are residing Abroad or who have achieved their qualifications required for the Entry Test from Abroad shall be eligible for being considered for Admission on the Normal Seats and shall be eligible to appear in the Entry Test if they have passed three Science Subjects out of which 02 have to be Biology and Chemistry. Candidates having SAT-II Test Score of 550 Minimum Marks shall be exempted from the Entry Test and shall be required to appear only in the Interview.

PMDC Requirements for Foreigners / Overseas Candidates with Mathematics in lieu of Physics:


In accordance with the current rules of the PMDC, Candidates with Qualifications other than those from the Boards of Secondary & Higher Secondary Education in Pakistan are eligible to apply for Admission to the Medical College without a Pre-Medicine Equivalence that is, offering Biology, Chemistry and Mathematics in lieu of Physics.
Foreigners / Overseas Candidates will be required to obtain an Eligibility Certificate from PMDC by submitting the following documents to PMDC:

  • SAT-II Test Score with 550 Minimum Marks in each Subject that is Biology, Chemistry & Mathematics / Physics
  • Valid TOEFL / IELTS with 500 / 5.5 Minimum Score respectively only if the medium of instruction of study two years prior to application for Admission / Entry Test is not English. An alternate to TOEFL and IELTS is a Certification by NUML Islamabad after the 01 Year English Language Course
  • Equivalence from IBCC state that the Candidate's High School Qualification is equivalent (in any discipline) to a High School Qualification in Pakistan
    • Candidates of FA / FSc Stream can apply for the NUST Entrance Test on the basis of FA/ FSc Part-I but the confirmation of their Admission is subject to the provision of FA / FSc Certificate or Detailed Marks Certificate (with 60% Minimum Marks) before the commencement of the relevant Study.
    • Candidates of O-Level / A-Level Stream can apply on the basis of O-Level Equivalence Certificate, duly obtained from the Inter Board Committee of Chairmen (IBCC) office, but the confirmation of their Admission is subject to the provision of the A-Level Equivalence Certificate with 60% Minimum Marks.
    • Candidates for Medical Programs have to enter their complete FSc / Equivalent Exam Marks as per IBCC Pakistan. 
    • Marital status for Army Medical College: Unmarried

    Admission Test will be conducted from Following 05 Sections (05 Subjects):

      • Negative Marking: There is NO Negative Marking in the NUST Entrance Test

      SAT Seats for National Students

      Few Seats are reserved for induction through SAT Test Scores to facilitate Admission of Candidates from O-Level / A- Level background. Pakistani Candidates of both O-Level / A-Level and FA / FSc Streams can exercise this option and compete for the SAT Quota of Seats by taking the SAT Subject / Reasoning Test.

        • Merit List for candidates applying on the basis of SAT for National Seats is prepared separately
        • Merit List for candidates applying on the basis of SAT for International Seats is prepared separately

        Instructions For Submission Of Online Application

        NUST accepts only Online Application Forms for UG Programs. A candidate can Fill and Submit the Application Form, available online at: www.ugadmission.nust.edu.pk (site is accessible at time of admissions only)

        1. Visit www.ugadmission.nust.edu.pk (site is accessible at time of admissions only) and Register with valid E-Mail Address.
        2. Candidate will be allotted a password to access the Online Application Form.
        3. Upload recent Photograph (with plain background).
        4. Candidates can apply for Admission to all Undergraduate Programs on the basis of NUST Entrance Test or SAT Test Score or both, according to Eligibility Criteria.
        5. Candidates applying on SAT basis have to enter their SAT Subject Test Scores at link available on My Account Page after submission of Application Form. Those who do not enter their SAT Test Scores by given deadline will be assigned zero weighting.
        6. Candidates can deposit the Fee either through Credit Card or make deposit, in any branch of HBL or Standard Chartered Bank (Pakistan) Ltd., after taking printout of the Challan Form.
        7. Candidates of Islamabad Centre will have to choose Test Date and Session out of the available options. Allocation of Test Date and Session will be made on ‘First Come First Served’ basis.
        8. Candidates of Islamabad Centre will be allocated Roll Number, Test Centre, Test Session, Log-in ID and Password for Computer Based NUST Entrance Test (CBNET).
        9. For Test Centers of Karachi, Quetta and Multan, candidates will be informed through email regarding Admit Card containing exact time and centre for Entrance Test.
        10. Candidates are required to print their Admit Cards and bring the same to the Test Centre along with original CNIC or a document with Photo ID such as Passport, original Matric / FSc certificate bearing photograph, etc.
        11. Candidates can change their preferences after the announcement of NUST Entrance Test results/merit positions during the given time. No application for change of preferences will be entertained thereafter. Closing merit of last session for different Academic Programs will be available on the website for guidance.
        12. Admit Cards will be retained at the Test Centre for further verification.

         

        Migration & Transfer Policy

        There is no Migration or Transfer Policy for Army Medical College (Students).

         

        Frequently Asked Questions

        Q: How can I apply Online for admission to NUST ?
        A Candidate / Applicant can fill and submit the Application Form available at NUST website www.nust.edu.pk after getting registered by providing his / her valid E-Mail Address.

        Q: What documents are required to be submitted along with Application Forms ?
        Prospective Candidates must be in possession of either Computerized National Identity Card (CNIC) or Form B without which the Application for Registration will not be accepted. Online Registration System will not require attachment of Documents / Credentials. However these Documents will be required for verification during Selection & Admission Process.
        Q: Where should I deposit the Online Application Processing Fee ?
        Application Fee in Pakistani rupees can be deposited in any branch of HBL or Standard Chartered Bank as per challan, to be printed on completion of Online Application. It can also be deposited through Credit Card.

        Q: Can I apply on SAT Basis ?
        You can apply on SAT basis, NUST requires following SAT Test Scores:-
        SAT-II Test Score of 550 Minimum is required in 03 Subjects of which two have to be Biology and Chemistry.

        Q: Can I apply through SAT as well as Entry Test ?
        Yes, you can apply through both the Streams but will be required to pay Additional Application Fee.

        Q: What Category of Candidates can apply on SAT basis ?
        Any candidate can apply on SAT basis provided he / she has SAT Test Score for the chosen Disciplines of Study. Admission on SAT basis has 02 Categories National & International. National Candidates admitted on SAT basis pay Tuition Fee & Allied Charges in Pak Rupees whereas Candidates admitted against International Seats pay the required Dues in US Dollars. For Candidates of Medical Programs, who want to apply for International Seats, the following Categories will be eligible:
        • Pakistani National Students having passed an Examination Equivalent to Intermediate Level of Pakistan while being Abroad, from a Foreign Education System.
        • Foreigners and Pakistanis having Dual Nationality, irrespective of the place of their Pre-Medical Study, Pakistan / Abroad.
        • Pakistani Students studied Abroad for Pre-Medical but appearing in the Pakistani Board from Abroad.

        Q: What Score of SAT is needed ?
        Seats for SAT Stream Candidates are limited. Therefore, a Candidate with High Score stands better chances of Selection. For Medical Candidates the Minimum Score needed is 550 in each Subject.

        Q: I am in my Final Year of A-Level & my result will come out in August, can I apply ?
        Yes, you can apply as in such case you will be evaluated on the basis of O-Level Equivalence marks but you have to provide Equivalence Certificate of A-Level within 15 Days of announcement of Result, before the commencement of relevant Study Program.
        Q: What is the Eligibility Criteria for applying in Medical Programs ?
        Matric / O-Level / Equivalent Qualification (Science Group) and FSc / A-level / Equivalent Qualification (Pre-Medical Group) with 60% Minimum Marks in each.

        Q: I am a Pakistani living Abroad, can I apply for Admission as an International Student ?
        Yes, you can apply for Admission against Seats reserved for International Students by submitting SAT Test Score and meet the specified Eligibility Criteria. Candidates have to enter their SAT Test Score at link available on My Account Page after submission of Application Form. Those who do not enter their SAT Test Score by due date will be assigned Zero Weightage.

        Q: I am a Foreigner, Can I get Admission in NUST ?
        You have to apply on SAT basis through your Embassy as an International Student. For details including payment of Fee in US Dollars, please refer to relevant portion in the Prospectus / on NUST Website.

        Q: What is the Eligibility Criteria for International Students ?
        To apply as International Student, candidates have to provide SAT Subject / SAT Reasoning Test Score as per requirement along with 60% Minimum Marks in Matric / Equivalent and FA / FSc / Equivalent Exam.

        Q: If I have taken SAT Reasoning & SAT Subject Tests, do I still have to sit in the Entry Test ?
        Those applying on SAT basis need not to take NUST Entry Test, however they can opt for NUST Entry Test in addition to SAT Specified Seats. In this way, they will be considered in both Streams.
        Q: Is an Equivalence Certificate of Qualification other than Matric & FSc / FA necessary ? Can I not submit my O-Level and A-Level Certificates ? (I ask so, because I will be applying from Abroad) ?
        Equivalence Certificates duly issued by IBCC, Pakistan are necessary for those Candidates who do not possess Matric & FSc / FA Qualifications. Submission of only O-Level & A-Level Grade / Mark Sheets will not serve the purpose.

        Q: Is there any Age Limit for Undergraduate Admission ?
        No

        Q: How many Students get Admission in Medicine Programs on an average Per Year ?
        Determination of Admission Seats are made on year to year basis depending upon availability of infrastructure and other relevant facilities

        Q: Would the Admission Processing Fee / Security Deposit is refundable in case a Student does not join the University ?
        University will refund only the Security Deposit to the Candidates who do not join the University. Admission Processing Fee is non-refundable.

        Q: I could not appear in NUST Entrance Test, can I take the Test on some other day ?
        NUST is conducting NET in Paper Based Format on one day and in Computer Based Format in Two Sessions daily on different days as per the Schedule. As a policy if a Candidate misses the NUST Test Session he / she is not given another chance. But in case of extreme emergency requests may be entertained on case to case basis.

        Q: Is there any negative marking in the NUST Entry Test ?
        There is NO Negative Marking.

        Q: What is the deadline for Submission of SAT Test Score ?
        Last date for SAT Test Score to reach NUST directly from College Board, USA can be checked on the NUST Website. NUST Institutional Code to receive SAT Test Scores is 2790. It is the responsibility of Candidates to ensure the provision of SAT Test Scores to Undergraduate Section, NUST, Sector H-12, Islamabad by the given deadline.

        Q: What is the Tuition Fee for International Students ?
             US$ 10, 000/- Per Year

        Q: Is migration to NUST allowed ?
        Yes, as per Migration Policy, Student can apply for Migration after completion of 1st Year and before the beginning of Final Year. No Migration is allowed in Army Medical College. Please refer to NUST Prospectus for further detail.

        Q: Though I have submitted my Admission Form but I have not received my Admit Card, what should I do ?
        Please forward an E-Mail to webmaster@nust.edu.pk for the same.

        Q: What is the Format of Questions in NUST Entry Test ?
        Entry Test is in the form of MCQs. Paper of English is on the lines of SAT Exam. A Sample Paper may be seen on NUST Website.

        Q: What is the total time of Entry Test ?
        Total Time of Entry Test will be 03 Hours.

        Q: Can I get some Sample Test Papers of NUST Entry Test ?
        Mock Test for Computer Based / Paper Based Test is uploaded on NUST website www.nust.edu.pk under the link Downloads for Candidates to Practice.

        Q: When is the result of NUST Entry Test published ?
        Entrance Test Result for Computer-Based Test will be available on NUST Website within 24 Hours and for Paper-Based Test within 7 Days.
        Provisional Merit Lists will be published 20 days after the last session of Entrance Test and placed on NUST Website for information of Candidates.

        Q: Can I get a copy of NUST Entry Test result ?
        Desirous candidates may obtain the result details of their Entrance Test from the link available on NUST Website.

        Q: Can I apply for rechecking of Entry Test Result ?
        Rechecking is only applicable for Paper Based Format of the Entry Test.

        Q: When Will the Candidates of MBBS / BDS be able to print Admit Card ?
        For printing of Admit Cards, Applicants for MBBS / BDS are required to enter their complete FSc / A-Level Equivalence Marks. You can login to your Account even after closing of the Registration Date for entering the Marks and subsequently selecting the Test Schedule.

        Q: What are the Eligibility Criteria for International Students (Medical Sciences Programs) ?
        NUST has some SAT Specific Seats in Medical Sciences for International Students. For Admission in Medical Programs, Following Categories are eligible:
        • Pakistani National Students having passed an Examination Equivalent to Intermediate Level of Pakistan while being Abroad, from a Foreign Education System.
        • Foreigners and Pakistanis having Dual Nationality, irrespective of the place of their Pre-Medical Study, Pakistan / Abroad.
        • Pakistani Students studied Abroad for Pre-Medical but appearing in a Pakistani Board from Abroad.
        To apply as International Student on SAT basis, Candidates have to provide SAT Subject Test Score with 550 Minimum Score in each 03 Subjects of which 02 have to be Biology (E or M) and Chemistry. Candidates must also have 60% Minimum Marks in Matric / Equivalent & FSc / Equivalent Exam also.
        60% Minimum Marks each in FSc / Equivalent Qualification with 03 Subjects out of which Biology and Chemistry are essential Subjects (as certified by IBCC) for Medical Programs.
        Desirous Candidates can avail the facility accordingly, provided they meet the specified Eligibility Criteria and are willing to pay Tuition Fee and Allied Charges of the Category.

        Q: Does NUST offer Scholarships / Financial Assistance ?
        15% of Top Merit Position holders in NUST Entry Test with respect to Total Seats in respective disciplines will be awarded Tuition Fee Waiver for the 1st Semester (06 Months) except in Medical Sciences where these will be awarded Tuition Fee Waiver for 1st Academic Year on joining the discipline.
        All those Students who continue to show good Academic Performance and maintain 70% and above (in Medical) will continue to get Financial Assistance in each Semester / Academic Year within the range of 15-75% of Tuition Fee.

SCHOLARSHIPS & FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE INFORMATION

NUST Merit-Based Scholarships / Fee Waiver:
15% of Top Merit Position Holders in NUST Entry Test with respect to Total Seats in respective disciplines will be awarded Tuition Fee Waiver for 1st Academic Year on joining the discipline.
All those Students who continue to show good Academic Performance and maintain 70% and above will continue to get Financial Assistance in each Academic Year within the range of 15-75% of Tuition Fee.

NUST Need-Based Scholarships:
NUST has launched a Need-Based Scholarship Scheme to enable financially under-privileged but talented students to acquire Higher Education. Salient features of the Scheme are:

  • Sufficient Number of Scholarships / Fee Waivers will be awarded to the Needy Students of the New Batch Every Year.
  • Scholarship will be for full duration of the Program in which the Student is enrolled.

  
Deferred Payments:
Financially under-privileged Students, who cannot pay their Fee and also do not qualify for Merit-Based Scholarship are allowed Deferred Payment, on case-to-case basis on completion of 1st Year of their studies.
  
Other Opportunities for Financial Assistance:
Some Philanthropic Organizations provide Scholarships to the Orphans and Disabled studying at NUST. Such Students will be informed on how to apply once they are selected.
Students may also apply on their own for other Scholarships such as those offered by:

  • Infaq Foundation
  • Higher Education Commission (HEC)
  • Quaid-i-Azam Scholarship by Ministry of Education
  • Shell Pakistan, etc
